Thomastik Infeld Strings
" If you are serious about jazz, you probably already know about Thomastik Infeld strings. Professionals swear by them because they've been engineered to create THE sound they're looking for. You can choose from 4 varieties: our traditional Jazz Swing Series (flatwound) or BeBop (roundwound) or our all new George Benson signature strings, also available in roundwound or flatwound. All feature similar construction characteristics, but the George Benson sets are custom-gauged to George's own specs."
"Our jazz strings start with a precision made round core of high carbon steel. Other brands use hex cores for simplified manufacturing, but we've found that a true round core vibrates more feely, with no preferred motion axis. The string ends are then silk wrapped to secure the windings in place and extend playing life."
"Our flatwound strings are actual, flat ribbon wound, unlike others who use shortcut processes such as groundwound or compressed windings. The surface is highly polished pure nickel yielding a supple and responsive feel."
